Fairy Gem Leland Blue One Stone Ring
+About this piece:
The soft colors and dainty size of the stones in this collection, remind me of fairyland gems. The color is spectacular. The stone is a translucent, glowing violet. This unusual stone is set on a double layer of sterling, accented with hand-hammered sterling embellishments and finished with a hand patterned sterling band. The top measures 29mm in length. Best fits a size 8 1/2 to 9.
All sterling. Hallmarked. One-of-a-kind. Hand built in the heart of the West.
+About the stones in this collection:
Leland blue is a beautiful "stone" that is not technically a stone but is actually a by-product of the iron smelting process. When the industry failed in Leland, Michigan, the waste was dumped into the harbor. Today it can be found washed up on the shore around Leland. It's found in a variety of beautiful blues but a mix of chemicals causes it to appear in grey, green and purple, which are a bit more difficult to find.
+ Details:
+ All pieces are slowly and carefully handmade, in my studio in Sheridan, Wyoming. Because of this, each piece is unique and may contain the slight imperfections that you would expect with a handcrafted item. Perfectly imperfect!
+ As with all handmade jewelry, please be mindful to take care of it. It should not be worn in the shower, while cleaning, during strenuous activities such as sports, or in the water.
+ Sun, heat, lotions and chemicals can affect stones negatively. Clean silver (not stones) with a gentle polishing cloth, especially for jewelry (Sunshine polishing cloth is recommended).
